Christmas comes early at Captured in a Flash Photography!

This past weekend was the start of Christmas minis in the studio! First up was our Santa sessions. I feel like every year I start planning for Christmas sessions months and months ahead of time, and when I say months, what I really mean is I've already started thinking about the 2022 Christmas sessions already! lol Each year I plan and prep and even worry that I've missed something that's so important, but then it all magically comes together and we end up having a great Christmas season! This year of course is no different. I've had lists for the last month of things that still needed to be done and things that needed picked up only for it to all come together and run smoothly!

I've had the idea for a Santa in the kitchen session for years now but finally decided to go for it! My biggest concern was that the kids and Santa would be a mess for the photos. I knew that I had to find a way for them to enjoy "baking" and having hot chocolate but without the mess. I decided we would bake cookies but they would actually be ornaments for the kids to take home. All the kids even down to the youngest had a blast helping Santa cut out the shapes and decorate the "cookies".

Even though they didn't get to enjoy real cookies and hot chocolate during the session no one seemed to mind. Each child got to take home some treats to snack on!

It was an amazing day with so many great and amazing people involved. (Especially Santa!) I'll be uploading some more photos from these sessions soon and videos so that you can see him in action because he's the best! But for now here's a look at what the studio looks like all set up for the holiday!
